Unico
Hospital has officially inaugurated its Stroke Awareness Campaign to promote early recognition of
stroke symptoms and encourage timely medical intervention. The campaign aims to
educate the public on the importance of recognizing stroke warning signs and
seeking immediate emergency medical care. Reinforcing the message that every
second counts in stroke treatment, the initiative also highlights the
hospital's commitment to providing rapid diagnosis, expert treatment, and
comprehensive stroke care to improve patient outcomes through its specialized Stroke
Management Centre.
As part of
the campaign, Unico Hospitals introduced the STRO awareness message: S
– Smile, T – Talk, R – Raise Your Hands, O – Observe. This simple four-step
approach is designed to help people identify the early warning signs of stroke
and take immediate action, as timely treatment can significantly improve
recovery and reduce the risk of long-term disability.
The campaign
was inaugurated by Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad, Senior Consultant – Clinical &
Interventional Neurology, in the presence of Ardra Kurien, Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) and Brig. Gen. Dr. Sharif Ahmed, Chief of
Medical Services (CMS). The event was attended by consultants, physicians,
department heads, the Chief of Nursing, and members of the hospital's clinical
and administrative teams, reflecting Unico Hospitals' collective commitment to
advancing stroke awareness and improving patient outcomes.
Through this
awareness initiative, Unico Hospital reaffirms its commitment to
increasing public awareness about stroke and educating people on the importance
of early recognition and timely medical intervention. The hospital encourages
everyone to remember STRO, recognize stroke symptoms early, act
immediately during a stroke emergency, and help spread awareness within their
families and communities—because early action can save lives.
