A Blessed Journey to Motherhood: My Normal Delivery Experience at Unico Hospital
All praises and thanks are to Almighty Allah. None of this is attainable without his infinite grace and mercy. Then, by the grace of ALLAH, my baby was a normal delivery. For this great favor, Alhamdulillah will never be enough.
None other than respected
Dr. Fatima Yasmin played a very special role behind this beautiful experience. Her faith in my ability to keep my son's birth natural – starting from the end of my pregnancy and throughout the delivery process – was nothing short of mental strength for me. Even through the toughest parts after my water broke her words of encouragement and expert direction were reassuring.
My water broke at 4:08 AM on 20 February 2026. So, I let the doctor know about this, and she recommended that I head to the hospital. I reached the hospital by 6:00 AM, and then after a few tests, I was told that Alhamdulillah, the baby was completely fine.
But I was not even 1cm dilated then, and felt barely any pain, just sporadic, gentle contractions. Amniotic fluid was observed to be at 7.5 cm. The doctor advised that we could wait 18 hours if everything stayed stable. The duty doctor also assured me that I can do it and all will be well, InshaAllah.
Then, after hours of no natural labor pain and just being 1 cm dilated, I agreed to this method of induction around 11:30 am. At 4 PM, the doctor said I was 5 cm dilated.
I was told to keep doing mild exercise, eat liquids, and practice deep breathing. Following these instructions was the best I could do. At this point, I was in the 24th group of the Rodromoyi Prenatal Course, and I tried to apply everything I had learned from the classes. I learned many techniques from that course, and Alhamdulillah, I gained a lot of confidence.
For a little while during this, the contractions were so terrible, and the timing felt so perfect that I asked the doctor if he would please turn off the induction. The induction was halted at my request.
And then, by Allah's great mercy, my baby was born naturally (via a nasty tear), on the 20th of the 2nd week of the month (Ramadan), Friday, 2026 at 5:58 pm - just at Iftaar. We were also both fine in terms of health, Alhamdulillah. Thank God we were discharged the next day (around noon) after observation.
Dr. Fatima Yasmin is, of course, a doctor but also a great human being. The way she cares, the way she is sincere, the way she feels responsible for her patients is commendable.
I would also like to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all the duty doctors, nurses, and the staff of
Unico Hospital who were present that day. They were there at every single step, providing me with support and motivation. Both of them acted really nicely and genuinely.
I was reassured and felt safe in their quick response and care in the labor room. The team approach made me feel less alone, as if everyone were working in concert for my baby and me. During that time, many doctors and nurses had to skip Iftar. The commitment and professionalism level is really applaudable on the part of all the Humans Behind the Platform.
I just clutched the bloody umbilical grip my feisty unborn baby had on my life, and then I heard the first cry of my baby, and it felt like the best present in the world. That moment cannot be put into words. The years of hurt and the waiting all made sense.
I sincerely pray to Allah to abundantly reward
Dr. Fatima Yasmin, her team, and all the staff of
Unico Hospital, to grant them excellent health and to enable them to bring such happy moments to many more mothers.
It is one of my most cherished memories. Alhamdulillah.
Pray for my babe and me, would ya?
