About Dr. Mostofa Kamal Chowdhury (Adil):

Dr. Mostofa Kamal Chowdhury (Adil) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Palliative Medicine at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Following his graduation from Dhaka Medical College, he pursued postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and gained over two years of experience in Endocrinology.

He has served more than eight years in Bangladesh’s government health sector across both rural and tertiary levels before joining BMU (formerly BSMMU), where he has been instrumental in shaping the field of Palliative Medicine in Bangladesh. His responsibilities include patient care, academic teaching, research supervision, administrative leadership, and the development of community-based palliative care initiatives.

Dr. Chowdhury has designed curricula and logbooks for residency programs, developed national palliative care guidelines, supervised community-based projects, and contributing to integrate palliative care into the primary health system. He is actively engaged in international collaborations to expand global access to palliative care and has been recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions.
