About Dr. Mostofa Kamal Chowdhury (Adil):

Dr. Mostofa Kamal Chowdhury (Adil) is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based, and holistic care for people living with acute, chronic, and advanced illnesses. Currently he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Palliative Medicine at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Following his graduation from Dhaka Medical College, he pursued postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and gained over two years of experience in Endocrinology.

He has served more than eight years in Bangladesh’s government health sector across both rural and tertiary levels before joining BMU (formerly BSMMU), where he has been instrumental in shaping the field of Palliative Care in Bangladesh. His responsibilities include patient care, academic teaching, research guidance, administrative leadership, and supervision of community-based palliative care initiatives.

In his current role, Dr. Chowdhury has actively contributed in designing curricula and logbooks for residency programs and developing national palliative care guidelines. He has been supervising community-based projects, and contributing to integrate palliative care into the primary health system. He is actively engaged in international collaborations to expand global access to palliative care and has been recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions.
