Professional Skill:

• Assessment of patients for anaesthesia or sedation including history taking, clinical examination, reviewing the laboratory data etc and interpretation of the same for anaesthesia and make plans for ensuing anaesthetic/sedation management.
•  Induction of anaesthesia, intraoperative management (monitoring and maintenance of physiology) and reversal of anaesthesia at the end of surgery.
• Performance of all general anaesthesia except cardiac anaesthesia but including neuro-anaesthesia, postoperative management including fluid and pain management, ICU management if and when necessary.
• Performance of Regional Anaesthesia including central neuroaxial anaesthesia.
• Performance of Ultra Sound Guided regional anaesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks.
• Provide sedation for patients undergoing diagnostic tests/procedures including sedation for MRI, CT scan, Endoscopy, ERCP etc.
• Counselling for both before anaesthesia including risk involvement and/or ICU management if and when necessary.
• Supervision, training and evaluation of performance of personnel, both medical and paramedical, involved in perioperative care including nurses.
• Treatment of patients for pain management (excluding chronic pain management)
• Clinical management of cardiac-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other OT/bedside emergencies.
• Place Central venous catheter and/or arterial line in OT before surgery or in ICU for patient management.
• Do procedure like Lumbar puncture for spinal anaesthesia, CSF sampling, etc.
• Blood collection/ IV channels/ Urinary catheterization / Intramuscular, sub-cutaneous & intravenous injection/ femoral tap/ LP/ NG tube in all age group.
• Assessment of all admitted under the care of accident & Emergency Department as per hospital policy and ordering of investigation and treatment as per the clinical requirement.
• Management of critically ill as well as post-operative mechanical ventilatory patient.
• Attend clinical meetings, CME and workshops
